Parking Advice

In the past couple years, our neighborhood has exploded, becoming a destination for night life and with a huge amount of residential construction. There are lots of pluses for the tango school: more people around at all hours of the day and night, better-lit and -maintained sidewalks, great restaurants and bars, and more potential tangueros.

However, parking has become more difficult. You now need a strategy at least during later evening and night hours. Here is some advice:

  • During the day, you can almost always find parking on Frankford Ave, or on Trenton Ave betwen Norris and Dauphin. map

  • At night, you may need to go a little further. The sure-fire, there’s-always-parking location near the school is three short blocks north, at the intersection of York and Trenton Avenues, on all sides of the Hackett School. On two sides of the school, there is pull-in parking (as opposed to parallel), so parking is easier and more plentiful. map

  • It is as safe to walk in our neighborhood at night as anywhere in the city. There are people around and it is well-lit. If you are worried about walking back to your car after the milonga or class, we will arrange for someone to walk with you.

  • If you really can’t find anything, call 617-291-3798. We will do our best to send someone to help you!

  • The closest paid parking lot is at 1334 N Front St, Philadelphia, PA 19122. It’s about a half-mile from PATS.
