Bios: Emiliano Messiez (piano) and Javier Sanchez (bandoneon)
Javier Sanchez was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has been playing the bandoneo4n for more than 25 years and toured the globe with large well-known orchestras and performance groups such as Rodolfo Mederos Orchestra Tipica, Tango Pasion, Tanguera - Mora Godoy and Tango Emotion (returning to Japan for 5 consecutive years). He also played in many well known tango shows in Buenos Aires, such as “El Viejo Almace4n”, “Esquina de Carlos Gardel”, “Cafe Tortoni”, “Piazzolla Tango Theater” and many more. He won First Place of the prestigious Che Bandoneon International Competition in August 2016 judged by Victor Lavalle4n. He now lives and plays in the New York Metropolitan area with Astoria Tango Orchestra, The Aces of Rhythm and many other groups.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and based in New York City, Emiliano Messiez started to play the piano at the age of 4. He graduated from the University of National Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he ended up teaching years later. Besides Classical Music, Emiliano has also trained in and mastered Tango, Jazz, Popular Music and Latinamerican Rhythms. He has been performing a wide range of music genres in important venues and festivals all around the world, working with significant artists like Raul Jaurena, Pablo Aslan, JP Jofre, Pedro Giraudo and “Infantino Group” with whom he recorded an album that received the Unesco Prize. He has been the music director and pianist of the show “Tango Buenos Aires” created by Mario & Daniel Celario and the creator of “Barolo Tango”, a tango show based in Argentina. He is the former pianist of the group “The Aces of Rhythm” with whom he performed at the Lincoln Center in New York plus many other venues. Emiliano is the pianist of the Broadway/London hit production show “Luis Bravo’s Forever Tango”.
