PATS is closed this week

The Philadelphia Argentine Tango School will remain closed from Monday through Friday, March 18-22, in the wake of Ignacio’s stroke. He is still in a very delicate situation, in the Neuro ICU at Temple University Hospital. They are taking amazing care of him, and all of your prayers and thoughts are very much appreciated.

If his situation becomes more stable, I hope to hold Milonga Qilombo this Saturday, March 23, with live music by pianist Emiliano Messiez and violinist Sergio Reyes. I can’t tell you yet whether or not that will happen now, but the musicians are holding the date, and I would love to have that chance to hug everyone, if possible.

I’m posting daily updates about Ignacio’s condition here.

Thank you to Karen, Kerry and Dawn, who set up a gofundme to help pay for Ignacio’s care. You can donate here.

Thanks to everyone who has already donated, and to everyone who has provided other support from material support like caring for Sheldon and bringing me food, to praying and thinking about Ignacio. It is remarkable to feel the extent of the community that we have around us, sending love and help from many different places. I know that, long before this, both of us felt that our lives would have been but a shadow of what they are without tango and our tango communities. And it just becomes more true every day.
